They just made it legal… I don't think baiting is a bad thing, I do think it needs to be regulated somehow.
Not true...unless you're speaking in biblical terms. They just made it legal….
One time I will say this. I will not get in a measuring contest with you on everything. I see you do this with a couple other guys on here and I think it's childish. Do not make me part of it! I don't care if you think your better than me and know more than me. I can live with that, so I suggest you find a way to do the same. Not true...unless you're speaking in biblical terms.
Incorrect. It was legalized within the last 20 years, perhaps within the last 15, I'm not certain of the year but it was since Mike Tonkovich started as the deer program director, and that was in 1996. I only remember because I knew a group of fellas that hunted over bait in MI every fall and when it was legalized in Ohio they were extremely excited about it. They still hunt over bait to this day.My recollection of the ODNR's wording is baiting is legal but ineffective. The only way this can be true is if the hunter success ratio of the totality of baiters is poor. Could be that way. There are a ton of bow hunters who cannot hit a barn. Maybe they bait more. They use the word, ineffective, but don't confuse that with " does not work" because corn baiting for deer is profoundly effective for drawing deer to a small place on a regular basis. I could kill a deer a day over corn if there were enough deer. (btw: always has been legal so they didn't just make it legal) .
Ok. Too far back for my memory.Incorrect. They still hunt over bait to this day.
Measuring contest? Baiting has always been legal, just not as popular as today. One time I will say this. I will not get in a measuring contest with you on everything. I see you do this with a couple other guys on here and I think it's childish. Do not make me part of it! I don't care if you think your better than me and know more than me. If you could delete this after you get my point, thanks.
Correct.(btw: always has been legal so they didn't just make it legal) .
As usual…wrong.Incorrect. They still hunt over bait to this day.
Since when has being wrong ever stopped Brock from taking an unfounded jab at Mike Tonkovich?Coonie must really be sick not to chime in on this one! As long as I can remember......about 50 years, baiting has always been legal on private ground. And yes that was before Tonk was around....in fact that was before Bob Stoll was around.
I would have disagreed with you a couple years ago but it does not seem likely now. At one time, the planned response to CWD included the banning of baiting and supplemental feeding but it doesn't appear that's going to happen. No way the ODNR outlaws baiting...
