Why do the Amish hunt public land ? I thought that they all owned farms or something along that line.

I seen more Amish hunters on public land than I have pine trees the past 5 years.

This is perplexing to me, can someone educate me on this.:bonk:

Yeah my brother saw the game warden with some Amish men last year during gun season. Lets say they got in some trouble had six deer between two men on there buggy non where tagged and they where hunting public land. The game warden was loading there guns into there truck and another heaving the deer into the bed of there infamous green truck!!

Well, for one, it is public land; second, having witnessed them hunting in the past they no longer have any game on their land; three, it is public land. If you see anyone breaking the law, call the law.

Just seen where guy posted in another topic they took his deer while he was givin it time to expire.
That was me. I hit her she went down then got up and dragged herself a couple of feet then it looked Luke she went down again. She was ontop of a hill and I was at the bottom so my view was obstructed. I backed off for a bit to let her bleed out.20 min later they come marching to her she gets up and they blow her away.

From my past observations they hunt anywhere they want.. I think they feel rules don't apply to them. I hunted a farm for years that was good hunting then the farms around it were slowly purchased by the Amish. Then the Deer and Turks got real thin to the point where I didn't hardly see anything anymore. Needless to say I don't hunt Holmes County anymore. :nono:

The Amish own 240 acres along my south and east boundaries. They do not shoot small bucks and are very careful about the number of does they shoot (3 so far this year). Along my North border is a group of professional engineers who are in there late 50's. They are the biggest slobs I have ever witnessed. Watched one guy shoot at a deer 12 times this year, shooting from there property onto mine, claiming they were trying to turn the deer! 2 bullets were within 50 feet of me. I have never lost my cool the way I did on those guys.

If the opportunity ever presents itself, the Amish and I are going to buy out the engineers just to put a stop to the BS.
