I got one today on my second time out this year in Leetonia, Columbiana County. I got to the farm at 5:30 and heard a gobble as I got out of my truck. It was coming from the woods across the
field from me. I decided to leave the decoys in the truck and headed towards the woods. It was pretty thick in there so I climbed up someone's treestand and let out a couple calls which were answered. After about 15 minutes I saw a turkey in the field and called him in. I had a shot but tried to wait for him to come more into an opening but he turned and headed back to the field. I thought I had blown my chance for the day.
After waiting about a half hour I got down and walked to the field hoping maybe he was still there, but I didn't see anything. I decided to head to my originally planned spot which was a pinch-point between two fields. I decided to walk through the woods to my spot instead of staying in the field. As I got close to the next field I saw two turkeys in the middle of the field headed my way. I knelt down next to a tree and waited as they came. Before they got to me it looked like they might start heading away so I took my shot of 45 yards. I was pretty happy to see the shot connected well.
