I have a new lab pup and interested in training it to track. Anyone have any suggestions where to start? Heard the book Tracking Dogs for Wounded Deer by John Jeanneney is good. Anyone have a copy they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks in advance

dont know much about blood tracking but ive been raising **** hounds for a few years now. although ive never had one run a deer rumor has it, it isnt hard to get them to do so. good luck keep us posted on how it goes!

I'm not 100% sure but idk if you can use a dog to recover a deer in Ohio. May want to look in to it tho. I wouldn't see what the big deal would be but Ohio does have some weird laws. Good luck with your training tho!

U sure can use a dog to track a deer but read the rules there is a stipulation or two

for sure check regs every year! you can use a leashed dog
