Well, I'm glad to say that I'm FINALLY done deer hunting for the year. Although I didn't harvest a buck in Ohio this year, I was able to take an 11 point out-of-state and 5 does in state. All with my bow. I passed up several 115 to 120 inch bucks in Ohio, but was holding out for something bigger. Maybe next year.

Here's how the weekend went. I hunted Friday for 4 hours in the evening, saw 7 deer, all does or buttons, but no shots. Back out Saturday morning, 4 hours. Saturday evening, I was able to shoot a mature doe at 25 yrds. Fell within sight, and 10 yrds from a small driveway next to the woods. VERY short drag! Total deer count for the day-28(!!). A few were probably double-counted, but I still saw a lot of deer.

Sunday morning, I didn't really expect to shoot anything, but shot another mature doe when she came in to investigate me in the tree. The cool thing is I made a 38 yrd shot, with my peep filled with snow! Thank God I shoot a lot of 3-D, and practiced that scenario before. She fell within sight as well, and only 25 yrds from the road! Saw 9 deer total.

All in all, this was my best season to date. This is my second year I have kept hunting after gun season. To all you guys that hang it up after gun season-you're missing out on some very good(but cold) hunting!
