We have 2 need 2 more but will go with just us, we may just have to hold out for the double bearded birds with 3 inch spurs.

I'm the only guy who hunts this place. can't get out till Saturday because of work , going to miss my first opening day in forever but i cant complain.just hope the weather is wrong, saying rain on the weekends.
I have a few PMs out to a few of the others who signed up as alternates or contacted me by PM. I hope to have you guys squared away soon.

Been a tough 3 days the boy got a first hand encounter on Sunday with a guy sneaking in between us and a bird less than 40 yards to our right that we had been working for 2 hours. I didn't say anything and kept my temper and congratulated the boy that shot it and went on our merry way.

Worked another bird Sunday morning for about an hour gobbling off the roost but wouldn't come the last 50 yards to the field.

Sunday night in the last hour worked another bird "tight lipped" saw in a field but the hens wouldn't let him come to us, we tried to get ahead and ambush him but some guys came in behind us and pushed him right into our lap before we got set up.

Sunday was a fun but disappointing day.

Monday heard one bird gobble 3 times off the roost and nothing the rest of the day. Saw one in a field but couldn't get around him in time before he was gone.

Toms are really henned up every bird has had 2 or more hens with him the past 3 days that we have seen.

Hope tomorrow is better.
