I was out until 1:00 today. Had the same 5 yearlings show up again, don't know why there are no mama's with them. Around noon another yearling came down off the opposite hillside, no mama's with it. This about the same scenario as the last time that I was out
I’m seeing the same thing Steve. All the does I’m seeing seem like yearlings. My area did get hit hard with the EHD. I haven’t seen any dead deer but a lot of other people have. Maybe it just kills the older deer. Not sure but definitely seems odd

Hunted from 9 am to 645 pm today in public property. Only saw one chipmunk at 610pm. Didn’t see a bird until 605. Unless I get private property to hunt next year I believe this will be the last year i deer hunt.

Had 2 little one show up behind me at daybreak. A lone doe approach across from me around 9...
I’m out now, can someone bring me sun suntan lotion, sun glasses and a beach towel? That’s what it feels like, along with the slight ocean breeze…

Last two days did morning to dusk hunts. Didn’t see one deer. Saw plenty of fresh rubs and scrapes. I’m off Monday Thursday and Friday next week and plan on going out.
Didn’t see anything again this morning. Very few sightings so far this year by me or the other guy that hunts where I do. I also haven’t seen any field edge scrapes like I normally do. I may be better served to hunt some public areas that I scouted this summer
Same here Jim...no sightings this morning. Need some cold weather for daytime movement!

I agree, but we normally see a lot of deer regardless of temps. If things don’t pick up by early next week, I am going to walk the property. I am in Warren county near twin creek. Warren supposedly got hammered with EHD this year. From our lack of sightings, I fear my area may have gotten hit hard too
I was out hiking Twin Creek a couple of weeks ago and didn't see/smell any.

I had the little guys under me again this morning before daylight....that was it!
I will be out again tomorrow morning with the low temperature tonight of 39°
Saw 1 doe
Well finally today I had some heart pumping action. Around 8 a little doe comes running diagonally down the hill through the honeysuckle and stops below me in the ravine. Seconds later I hear grunting from the area where she first appeared. I grab my Xbow off the hook, flip off the safety and see a spike buck following the same path as the doe travelled, it was grunting all the way down the hill. They followed the scrip but they were the wrong players!!!

Around 11:40 I heard something walking down the hillside to my right. The hill is covered with honeysuckle so I couldn't see what it was until it crossed the ravine about 100 yards to my right. It was a big buck with tall dark tines! As he eased up towards the head of the ravine I grabbed my grunt tube and grunted. He kept slowly walking through the honeysuckle. I grabbed my rattling bag and rattled, he kept walking. I kept grunting and eventually he stopped, but he didn't commit and come my way!!! I stayed until 1:00 hoping that maybe he would circle around behind me or maybe he would find a doe and chase her my way.
