I’ll be out again tomorrow morning and sometime Sunday if need be. By this time of year the deer on our 25 acres are very educated but may be a dumb one will come by. Lol

I got one last night and we couldn’t find it until this morning. I thought it was a doe but turns out it was a button buck. Does this still count as a doe for our contest?

Jim I believe it counts as a doe. I mean it scores as a doe with the ODNR. Congrats on staying at it. Nice weather last night to hunt. Wont be that warm again for a couple weeks.

Nice work Jim! I hit a doe yesterday morning, with crossbow, only 1 of 3 blades of the mechanical broadhead deployed, followed blood in snow for several hours. Had to get special permission to be able to get on the property it made it to, essentially guard escorts, never did find her...which sucks. I'm replacing the mechanical heads for fixed as we speak, so won't have that issue again. I should know better, had similar situation happen to me couple of years ago when using the crossbow.

Thank you Rick. That sucks. I have never been able to get fixed blades to fly right out of my crossbow, so when I’m using the crossbow I use the rage hypodermic two blades and I’ve never had a problem with them. It does suck though cause I would prefer to use fixed, but I’ve tried 4 different kinds and different weights with no luck. My brother laughs at me for all the different broadheads I have. Lol I read somewhere that it’s possibly due to the speed of the crossbow, but I don’t know. I do use fixed blades with my compound and it shoots great.

I hate that feeling when you hit one and can't find it, It happens. I have been using Spitfires out of my Excalibur for years and had good luck with them.

This was actually a NAP Spitfire...I am guessing that somewhere along the line it got something stuck in 2/3 blades. Back to the 3-bladed muzzy for all of my arrows now, short and long! Still two weeks left, plenty of time.
