Report: Charges against Jake Stoneburner dropped

By Dan KadarPublished: July 10, 2012

According to a report by WSYX (ABC 6, Columbus), criminal charges against Ohio State tight end Jake Stoneburner have been dropped.

Stoneburner, offensive lineman Jack Mewhort and another man were arrsested last month after allegedly fleeing police officers after being caught urinating in public.

Each pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and paid a fine of $299. Stoneburner and Mewhort were both stripped of their summer scholarships by the school. Although both remain suspended, they're listed as starters on the team's depth chart.

Earlier this week, Stoneburner was named to the John Mackey Award preseason watch list. It's given annually to the nation's top tight end.
