Hey Guys,

So I haven't been turkey hunting very long and was wondering if y'all had any tips on processing a turkey. I mean, I don't think anyone takes 'em to a processor. I have known people to just take out the breast and throw out the rest of the carcass. Is that something y'all do?

Slit it right down the breast bone and fillet the breasts out. the dark meat is tough and gamey but if you enjoy smoking things you can make a nice smoked turkey leg. or if you prefer....gut it and pluck it! i usually breast em out and give the legs to a guy who smokes em for me
