Hello, I am new to this site but not new to deer hunting in Ohio. I have been coming across from West by god Virginia for a couple years and hunting early smokepole in Shawnee. My buddy connected with a decent buck last year, but so far I have struck out, although I have seen enough to keep me coming back.

Has anyone from around Portsmouth or other areas of Shawnee been seeing many good deer this year? I don't have any time to come scout before October. Has anyone out there ever had any luck in the Wilderness areas? Any acorns over that way? Should be a good season this year with the mild winter, I can't wait.

I've probably met you.
I haven't really been down as much as I normally am so I don't have any info.
You know how it is, it's Shawnee.
