My son and his friend, in the pic, started the summer break by going after some monster bass. They used some raw deer steak and fished some thick cover. This was the largest of 2, measured 28.25 inches, and tipped the scale at 9lbs. and 4 oz. The second was a little smaller, 26.50 inches, and weighed 8lbs 3 oz. They caught these 2 hogs just minutes apart in a neighbors 40acre lake. Not a bad start for a couple of 13 yr olds.

They had one of those small freezer with some venison and other things in it. Somehow the freezer became unplugged and everything spoiled. they refroze the meat to use for turtle fishing, but thought they would try some on some big bass they knew were there. They cast the lines out, let them set a few minutes, and started a slow retrieve through some thick cover using some heavy line.
