Just mounted a 2x truglo red dot on my 870 using a b-square mount. My question is since I use my 870 for both deer and small game is it ok to leave the scope on while using the shot barrel for small game?

If you can shoot small game OK there is no legal reason to take it off.

Not sure what small game you hunt, squirrels and bunnies in front of beagles would work. I wouldn't want to try grouse with one.

The red dot is a legal site. It does not emit an actual light that projects onto an object.
