Rigging a new boat and would like to add the minn-kota deckhand electric anchor winch. Fore and aft. Any input? Should I go with the 18 or the 35? 16ft aluminum boat. LakeRaider""

I keep checking this thread

I'm curious too. I have an 18' CC Starcraft & would like to have a motorized anchor, especially in this 40 degree water.
Short ropes

Looks like they only hold 60' of line....Minn Kotas. Wouldn't work in the river. I emailed them to see if they will hold more. I'll keep you posted.

No, I keep a sharp knife.......no slugger. Ready to cut the rope when them bad boys pull you up on plane !!:D
Here's a question

While we're on anchors....has anyone used those anchor lifters?? They look like a beach ball and have a ring on them? You put you line thru the ring, motor the boat a little, pulling the rope up thru it...."floating" the anchor up ?? I sure would like to find an easier way to move the anchor so I could fish more spots.
I saw one anchor made with aluminum tines that will bend before snagging up & they go into what looks like a pipe filled with lead. At $60 ea. I think I'll make my own, I just need some alum rods.
Got message from JWA
