In the state of Louisiana Nutria are classified as a nuisance animal and are to be taken by any means all year long without limits as long as you have written permission from the land owner. They can even be taken at night with police notification.
After the duck season closes, we go shoot the nutria up in the same marshes we hunt the ducks in. It’s nice to ride through the marsh taking in the sights while getting some shooting in.
