Not all GW's are bad

I was scouting some public land on line using satilite images for new areas to try this spring. Had a few questions on property lines and the terrain. To save some time and $$$ I called the GW for that area. I left a message and the next day he returned my call. He was very helpful, but since I wasnt home yet to get on my computer, he told me to call him back, just not during dinner, lol.

I called him back, and had the map in front of me. He walked me through the property, and even told me where he has been following 2 nice flocks and where they have been hanging out mid to late morning.

He then told me where to park and get through the woods and even several places to sit up the birds, to avoid the crowds, seems there is a section that most people dont realize is part of the public land, and gets really no pressure.

I guess there are some good GW's out there.:bouncy:

they(wnf people and gw's) are always giving me info or us info when they come into camp...dont see em as much now as we used too...:D
I have only had to deal with the GW on a couple of occasions. Never had a bad experience yet. I told this GW that I just wanted to be sure where I was at, after all I didnt want him giving me a ticket. He laughed and said there are HONEST mistakes and DISHONEST mistakes. He really likes wrighting tickests for the DISHONEST mistakes.
I agree..Game Wardens are a great resource to use on public land..who better to ask questions than the guys are that frequent the property regularly! They just get a bad rap from the people that don't like to follow the laws. Good luck to everyone this season!

They're just like every one of us. They love the out of doors and work to see that wildlife laws are kept.
