In years past it has always been a challenge the last week of season for us. On average, we kill 90% of our birds the first two weeks. Having said that, this year, for whatever reason, the first week has been phenominal. The guys I know and/or hunt with have taken more birds this first week than any other season I can think of. I am seeing gobblers by theirself grouped up with no hens. That tells me two things.........A) hens are on nest B) when the gobblers start grouping up like that the fat lady is warming up.

Maybe it's just the areas we are hunting as things change from county to county.
