I may not agree with everything about Romney, but I did like his response here.

Romney Schools Heckler: 'If You Want Free Stuff, Vote for Obama'

http://nation.foxnews.com/mitt-romn...ols-heckler-if-you-want-free-stuff-vote-obama

Question from woman in Peoria, Illinois: "So you're all for like, 'yay, freedom,' and all this stuff. And 'yay, like pursuit of happiness.' You know what would make me happy? Free birth control."
Romney: "You know, let me tell you, no no, look, look let me tell you something. If you're looking for free stuff you don't have to pay for, vote for the other guy. That's what he's all about, okay? That's not, that's not what I'm about."

it surely must be comforting to know that these handouts didn't exist until Obama took office.

Along the same lines, Speaker Pelosi's daughter was on the news the past couple days shown interviewing people on the street in New York City (I think it was NYC, not 100% sure). She was outside what appeared to be an employment agency... and asking folks if they were inquiring within and trying to get a job. She was also asking these individuals about Pres. Obama, and getting "free stuff", etc... All individuals shown (to be fair, only 3-4 were shown in this clip) basically admitted to being freeloaders wanting something for nothing from our Gov't, and were perfectly fine with it. A very small sampling, yes, but in a larger context, I think this attitude is shared by almost 50% of Americans (if I had to guess). And many of us on both sides of the isle have become way too tolerant of this type of attitude. Over the years society has received more and more entitlements and goodies from the Gov't. No one party is completely to blame. We the people have allowed it to happen over decades. And now we are at the point where our economic strength as a Nation has been damaged, and the American work ethic of an honest days wages for an honest days work has been damaged. How much deeper will we allow this gimme/entitlement attitude to permeate our culture? Only time will tell.

And that it won't change even if Romney gets elected.
It too bad both sides can't see that it really doesn't matter who you're voting for when they share the same agenda. Keep arguing who's right/wrong while they do as they wish, it's what keeps the world turning.

This gimme mentality has "permeated" from the folks we've elected. They get more than the folks on welfare. Talk about "entitlement".

Pelosi's Daughter Enrages Left with Welfare Video

The people Pelosi interviewed at a welfare office on New York City's 14th Street, admit they don't want a job, and support President Barack Obama "because he gives me stuff," and "because he's black."

One man smokes and drinks Budweiser through a straw as he stands on line. He laughs as he admits to having five children by four different mothers. He tells Pelosi, "I'm here to get a check … whatever they've got to offer, it's not like they've got a checklist … I'm just here to get what I can get."

True,

Do you think mommy sent her to the corner for misbehaving?

It sounds like she interviewed some quality people that are definitely contributing to the benefit of society.

You gotta love how the left gets "enraged" when it's shown the truth and reality of what they are doing to this country. :coco:

If it's upsets them so much, you think they would strive to change their ways.

Yes, momma Pelosi could not have been very happy. :irked: Supposedly, none of the main-stream media outlets were keen on showing it either - not surprising. Jericho does bring up a good point though about our elected Officials in Washington... they certainly do Lead-The-Way with their entitlement attitudes, and heavily-padded retirement pensions! So at the end of the day, I guess it is safe to say that 50% or so of Americans are just emulating their Elected Leaders. Sad but true.

Too bad we can't wipe the slate clean and start over with a new House & Senate. No more career politicians. Two five year term limits, then back to their regular job as Mr. or Mrs. citizen. 50% of final base salary for a pension (but begin collecting at age 60)...

someone pinch me!

Just out of curiousity... does this mean that Romney is against free viagra, too? I'd be curious to see the crowds response to him attacking men's health care issues, as well.

I'm also curious as to how far the no free stuff attitude extends... do poor people no longer get free cheese? Does Congress no longer get free postage? Would a Romney President give up his free plane and motocade since he can afford his own? Would Romney eliminate all the free money we give the oil companies? How about GE? They paid no taxes and got millions in free money from the government.

I'm certain that over the many many years that Romney has been in politics that he has enjoyed many free perks as Governor or as a candidate. To make such a blanket statement makes for a good "conservative" sound bite, but it misses the mark when compared to reality.

Romney is as much for free stuff as the next guy. He just thinks that HIS free stuff is more important than HER free stuff. Let's not lose sight of that...

There is still a "conservative" war on women's health issues and how they just need to put an aspirin between their legs and all will be better for them. Romney's attitude plays right into that.

Corporate Freebies/

source; cato.org Start cuts here!

The federal government spent $92 billion in direct and indirect subsidies to businesses and private- sector corporate entities - expenditures commonly referred to as "corporate welfare" - in fiscal year 2006. The definition of business subsidies used in this report is broader than that used by the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis, which recently put the costs of direct business subsidies at $57 billion in 2005. For the purposes of this study, "corporate welfare" is defined as any federal spending program that provides payments or unique benefits and advantages to specific companies or industries.
Supporters of corporate welfare programs often justify them as remedying some sort of market failure. Often the market failures on which the programs are predicated are either overblown or don't exist. Yet the federal government continues to subsidize some of the biggest companies in America. Boeing, Xerox, IBM, Motorola, Dow Chemical, General Electric, and others have received millions in taxpayer-funded benefits through programs like the Advanced Technology Program and the Export-Import Bank. In addition, the federal crop subsidy programs continue to fund the wealthiest farmers.
Because the corporate welfare state transcends any specific agency - and therefore any specific congressional committee - one way to reform or terminate those programs would be through a corporate welfare reform commission (CWRC). That commission could function like the successful military base closure commission. The CWRC would compose a list of corporate welfare programs to eliminate and then present that list to Congress, which would be required to hold an up-or-down vote on the commission's proposal.
