I used to mount my transducer to a board about 2 ft long and use a spring clamp to fasten to a bucket. Just make sure your transducer is just below ice or you will miss side fish. You might have to adjust the sideways pitch a little depending on the hole. Worked that way for years till I bought a " VEXILAR ", now I won't ice fish without it. Mike
