What i have heard is that this area is one of the most populated area of Wild Boar in Ohio, one of the guys on our team was down therelast year and got two with one shot.....he didnt more than get up in his tree stand that he put up the day before.....and before he knew it he had a bunch of Hogs right where his stand was......he took a shot and the shot went thru the first pig and wounded the second one.....he said he was a little scared going after the one hurt by himself, thats why we are going down there more guys this time..........:)

I've been trying for the last two years to find hogs there. All the sign I've seen have been very old. I think the hunters ran them off on private. Talked to a DNR officer last month, he said he saw one cross the road near Nelsonville. Not saying their not there somewhere but everyone has been after them and prob have them nocturnal or in the thickest of thick. Keep us posted guys. Good luck. I truly hope u guys get em.

I just spent 3 days scouting Zeleski for next deer season. I did alot of hiking and looking but only found deer sign. Not being familiar with wild boar, what would I be looking for?
That must of been a rush getting a shot at one!! How big was the pig your buddy got?
He got two pigs, one was a 270 pound 290 pound, he ended up with about 300 pounds of meat, 30 pounds of Bacon and the rest was all kinds of cuts.

In the three days of scouting we had 9 different hikes. Probably 20 miles of rough country. In the south we did state forest rd, and south of the horse camp. We did a few on king hollow rd, webb hollow, and hunt hollow. We even did one at waterloo wildlife area. All were good with deer signand turkey sign. We were trying to find a place no one else goes. (good luck with that lol) found alot of human sign left over from last fall. I'm not familar with hog sign. So I'm not sure if we walk by any. I quess I'm no help with that. No matter what, you guys will have a good time. There nothing like being in the woods!
Thanks for the info, I have never been in the area, but one of our members did kill two pigs down there last year. We will probably try and lower the Coyote population some while we are down there and also do some spring Turkey.......but hopefully we will be able to bag some pigs also.....
Was out there in late Feb with two buddies. We were less than 200 yds in and found a small fresh wallow. Nearby we found a massive rooting area. We hiked for 5 hours. Saw and heard no pigs but we were all over their paths. Found tusk rubs on lots of trees. Even found where we think a group holes up. Plan on heading back. I have some great Intel just need the time and the crew. We have been told they gave gone fully nocturnal. Lots of private leases near them as well so will be hard to stay on them once they.start moving.

Growing up in Florida I've done alot of hog hunting and I must say these hogs up here are not the same as the "pine rooters" we have down south. They are the true Russian boars and get alot bigger and uglier. Some tips I can give are if its hot go towards water and find them wallowed up in the daytime. If its winter/fall it can be harder to locate them but finding their main food source would probably be best bet. This time of year they will be on their wallows and it should be easier to locate them. They have great hearing and even better sense of smell. Eye sight is not the best but they arent like a deer. If they see something that looks out of place there is no curiosity in them like a deer, they are out of there! Good luck guys post some pics if yall kill any.
P.S.- I've talked to alot of Ohioans about the subject and the first thing that comes out of there mouth is getting charged.... They arent what they are all cracked up to be like on tv. They will run before they charge so keep good confidence on this note and make a good shot, dont worry about getting hurt its not a very common thing to be charged unless you bay them with dogs and its their only route out... like we used to say "Just pick a tree."
