  1. Hey guys I was wondering as long as my wife doesn't have a weapon she can come along on a hunt with me without a license correct? I was also thinking about doing the apprentice license for her but does she have to take the safety course before I can even do that?

  2. She needs a license if she in any way assists you in hunting. like a tap on your shoulder, and whispering "12 point". She does not need the safety course before the apprentice license but my opinion is if your hunting with a gun present, the hunter safety course should be mandatory.

there was a person who frequented this forum who was shot dead last January. No explanation of what the ODNR determined in their investigation. My guess, apprentice hunter, no safety course was at fault.

  3. No I will only be taking her out during bow season.

  4. Just get her the apprentice license, and go have fun!
