Ok guys: For you guys that use ground blinds(portable) to hunt turkey with which one is the best one to use:Was looking at the ameriastep doghouse is this good for two people and is there enough room for a bow hunter.
I know all about the double bulls but that price is very pricey.

Call me cheap if you want, but mine came from Glen's surplus in Shelby, O. It's (German?) camo net material and I use wood spring type cloths pins and a few cut Alder shoots to put it up with.
Very portable and low profile. Werks fer me...:^).

I have a Double Bull T2 blind and I just love it. I will have to make a trip up that way and show it to you. In exchange for a turkey trip in your area?;)

I have seen that. I used to use netting and bring a few old pocket knifes with me. I would find a place to set up and make a V pattern with the netting and use the knives to stick in the trees to hold up the netting. Since I got the blind I have carried it , but still carry the netting. You never know what your going to in counter.

The wife got a pop up blind last year and we used it for deer season some. It is great for us because we have children who like to fidget. I believe it would work out great this spring for turkey hunting even better.

George it is the Ameristep Doghouse. We got it on sale one day at Dick's Sporting Goods for $100 which was way lower than the retail price. It doesnt take long to set up and after you figure it out it isnt that hard to carry to your spot. (It does weigh a little though)

I can set up this Double Bull Blind in less then 10 sec.. It does cost abit , but it's worth it. Also is pretty light to carry. Has it's own bag to keep it in and carrying strap.;)

No experience with the doghouse, but the outhouse is too small for me. I went with the 2' tall leaf cut cloth with stakes in it every 5'. About $20., and I can shoot any weapon I hunt with out of it:)
I also have a camo umbrella that mounts on a tree, or can be used as a blind, but it isn't good in wind. On a rainy day I can use the umbrella and blind and stay dry and concealed for about $40., a lot less than the pop-up blinds!

I wouldn't like hunting from a blind. I like sitting down against a tree and waiting. I like being out where they have the chance to see me. I dont' know, maybe i think it's more challenging, or maybe I'm just cheap, but I'm not gonna invest the money in that...belly boat first!

We also have the pop up Jake blind that we use and the umbrella thing. With 3 sons we need em all. But the blind will help Mom with one of the boys so I can go out with the other 2. It also helps the ones that have problems staying still. It also admit that it isnt for everybody since their ways are the only ways to hunt:rolleyes:
