The farm that I hunt is planting corn this year , my question is would it be ok to plant something between the rows ? they have not plowed or planted yet and i thought this might be a easier way than creating whole new plots . The farmer is good with the idea ,I just needed some advice like is it worth it and if so what might be the best choice for this situation ?

overseeding brassicas into corn rows is a common method to do........even winter rye. Over seed the brassicas in mid-late july or the winter rye in mid-late august.

You can do the same with ag beans as well. In August go in and broadcast winter rye and after a couple rains you will have winter rye growing amongst the beans.

Thanks for the info , any suggestions on brands of seed or does the whitetail institute and biologic stuff work fairly well? would like to find something that will still produce in fall thru winter.
