Lake sucks for fishing. Small bass. Lots of grass in lake. Great place to camp.

Spoons is my lure of choice for trout in lakes around here.

If you get on the bridge and throw corn out and use the floating chartreuse trout bait, on a Texas rig you'll limit out in about a half hour. The key to it is to throw out about 40 ft and hold your line till you feel the 1/4 oz weight hit the bottom, then let out line so your bait floats to a depth they're at. There were some locals fishin for trout and they said they rarely caught any. I showed them what I was doing and they also limited out about the time we did. I believe it's a cold water lake, if not they stock bigger trout there cause most were about two pounds. We'd hit the lake after turkey hunting in the morning and go back to camp and have some surf and turf.

Alma is a great lake! And btw the bridge is closed, it's in bad shape and has been blocked off with no trespassing signs.

It must be a cold water lake. The trout we landed the other day had real good color to them. Most lakes around here a day or two after the release the trout are silver looking and lacs the worm makes that you would see on a healthy rainbow trout

I fished alma Monday and then few trout I caught looked great and healthy.

If it don't rain I might go over there Wednesday if it's not raining in the morning. And take the canoe.

I will probably head to alma Wednesday also, probably around 11:30 in my kayak.

Huh, I haven't been there in 5/6 years. I'd like to hit it again, nice trout.
