Hunted some Southeast public land on Monday, didn't hear a Gobble! But I did walk up on a hen and her poults! She had At least 10 (probably more). Was walking on a grassy log road and had stopped to call before cresting this small rise. Didn't get a response so I proceeded on over the top and stopped to look around and noticed some movement about 5 feet in front of me in the grass. About then a hen explodes off to my right, fly's about 15 yards and lands putting her head off! The poults went in every direction but didn't go far, maybe ten yards. I backed out and over the little rise I just came over and watched and listened. She came right back and gathered all her little (and I mean little) fuzz balls up and off they went.

Not sure how close they are in timing, but we saw a woodduck with at least 10 ducklings on Tuesday in Columbiana county. They were tiny!
