The morning started off a little slow hearing only a few gobbles at day light. It was cold, rainy, and windy. Not the best conditions but it was first day. About 0800 a hen finally worked her way into the field that I was watching. I decided to do a little calling and instantly got a reponse. I waited about 5 minutes and hit the call once more and got an even faster reponse. This time I seen them working there way from the woods to field. There was 3 longbeards and hen working towards my decoys. I ended up shooting this guy at 35 yards. 9" beard, 1" spurs, and only weighing 16 lbs. This is my first OH bird. Time for another tag I guess. lol
