Hi there, I have wild/caught feral pigeons for sale. I use them for dog training and have more than I can use. Prices start at $5 per bird, which is about what I spend on gas to get them. If you buy in quantity, I can drop the price to $4 per bird. Thanks - Andy

pigeons

Where are you?
I'm in Bowling Green but,..

I regularly travel between Bowling Green and Marietta. So, if you are near Bowling Green or in between Bowling Green and Marietta, I should be able to get pigeons to you. Sorry for not including that information in the original post - Andy
not trying to start anything but is it even legal to sell wild caught pigeons , and how can a pigeon thats not in a cage be a feral pigeon
FYI legality of trapping pigeons.

FYI
I posted this in another thread a few weeks ago.

I called the DNR yesterday and spoke with the legal department. Pigeons are the only non-regulated bird in the United Stated. It is legal to buy or trap them yourself but you do need a hunting license to do so. You can use them for dog training but you can not plant them on state game lands. There is a section in the hunting regulations for bird training areas provided by the state.

I have to say how impressed i was when speaking with the different departments at the DNR. Everyone was really helpful and i got all the answers i needed in no time. The guy in legal i talked to even gave me some advice on planting birds.
i guess you learn something new every day so does that mean we can shoot em to
Yes you can shoot them. I guess pigeon pot pie is a fairly known recipe if you wanted to eat them. I would refrain from eating any shot in a city though :)

Saw your listing, live in West Virginia, 15 miles above Marietta, Ohio, looking for training piegons. Could you let me know what you have. Bill
Check with the local pigeon racers, feed stores, wedding planners, or local Trade Days....course, I bought some from a racing guy at Parkersburg a few years ago....and I think they went home two weeks later.
;)...he probably has sold those pigeons several times.
I lost 4 of my homers the other night. I suspect a weasel or a mink as they were decapitated, none eaten. All my doors were closed but there is a slight gap at the return door. My wife actually found the carnage and was not pleased. :yikes:

That's usually the sign of an owl.....found a pile of dead pheasants on a shooting preserve on time; they had a European shoot earlier in the week. Told the owner/operator of the place what I had found, and he said it was an owl. He said that they would land on top of the netting and wait for the pheasants to panic and fly up, then would grab them when their heads came through the netting. I'm told they have a penchant for the brains.
No owl in the loft though.

I have seen the handy work of raptors on Pelee Island. They do decapitate them as well. Never heard the affinity for brain-stew.

A Weasel...did the Mrs. get the mess cleaned up? :)
