Making your own fishing rods

I make my own fishing rods, right now I am making a catfish rod.
I suggest that you get a Cabela's Tackle Craft Catalog, in my opinion they have better quality kits. You'll have a lot more choices with Cablea's. If you go with the kits from Netcraft you'll get a foam handle as opposed to a cork handle that you get with kit from Cabela's. Neither kit is actually complete, the Cabela's kit gives you the rod finish but not the color preserver. The Netcraft kit doesnt have the color preserver or finish, but does sell a separate rod-finish kit with both. Cabela's rod finish is very easy to work with, I dont know who's finish you'll get with Netcraft, so this is just another reason to go with the Cabela's kit. Let me know if you have any other questions or if I can be of any further assistance.
