In my never-ending quest to make this pattern as weedless as possible, I have decided to test it on a tube. Last year, with mixed results, I articulated the hook on heavy braid to see if the hook would free float over weed mats. I think this will work better. I am going to use a Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse hook with a 2-strand mono weed guard (made from 50lb mono) with the hook point up and see what happens.

I did 2 in green/white and 2 in black/silver. Hopefully I'll get to test them in the next week or so and see how they do. I know they'll draw strikes, I'm wanting to see how they hook fish (problem with the articulated versions) and how weedless they are (problem with the standard version tied to a hook).

I only have been out with these one time, and caught one bass through a weed mat in the corner of the pond. I'll get to give them their best test out on Lake Snowden sometime soon.
