Unbelievable!!!! My families prayers & condolences go out to all the astronauts families.

Brings back all the memories of the Challenger explosion so many years ago.

Could be they had too many of those tiles fall off on this one. That's been a chronic problem with those shuttles. Definitely wasn't any kind of missle. None can fly that high or fast.

Why couldn't it be a missle? That is basically what a space shuttle is attached to. If we have rifles that can shoot from a mile away, rifles that can take out battle tanks.........it is very unrealistic to say that some country does not have a rocket to shoot that high and fast.
They came across the news minutes ago stating from the Pentagon that moments after the shuttle began to re-enter that one of the satelites that detect when a missle is launched detected a huge amount of heat similar to that of a missle launch.
That too is a bit ironic..............

From what I'm understanding during this briefing is that nothing that happened with sensors or tile or anything was out of the ordinary.
I would be willing to bet that someone shot at it........like they have said if the shuttle gets off course, just a little........it's all over with...........all it would take is something to blow up near it to cause some sort of turbulance.
