A non-fishing friend shared this with me today. Apparently his brother was fishing for Northern in MI. He hooked into a good one. As it got to the surface, it suddenly became a 3-way tug of war. The late entry refused to let go as they brought it to the boat. The result-1 rod, 1 net, 2 fish...or so I'm told. In either case, good pictures.

Said I couldn't confirm or deny. Just passing on what I was told/shown.
Will say this-after fishing Northern Ontario for a week, and nearly losing fingers to a couple of Northern while unhooking 12-16" walleye, it at least seems fathomable.
In either case, when swimming in northern lakes, catfish will be a secondary concern of mine.
