Sam, so now you go by Big Tod?:mischeif:
No-That's me.:D
If you're looking for side-by-side enthusiasts, you might want to check out the Vintage Skeet group in southwest Ohio. Ask around skeet clubs for a guy named Hal Hare. Lots of competitive skeet shooters know him. He'll show you where you can still have some fun with them.
I'm on Hal's email list. It never seems to work out for me to attend. Sure would like to attend one of them sometime.

I and a group of friends shoot side by sides regularly, skeet and sporting clays.

You should really try to show up sometime at one of Hal's shoots. They're a ton of fun including prizes for dressing up like what the people wore when the old SxS was new. Skeet shooters back then wore ties and the women shot in dresses. It's a hoot...

Grab all your buddies and go show up as your own squad.
So I take it you shoot a SxS some? What you shoot?

I have several but my favorite is a little W.J. Jeffery box lock 20 bore. It's only 5 1/4 pounds, hardly a target gun but I enjoy shooting it and it fits so I shoot it relatively well(for me)

It looks like ed1 wants it pretty bad. If I decide I have to have it I would hate to get into a bidding war with him!:cheeky-smiley-022:
Ed is a "gunsmith" that buys guns to "restore". He famous for his torch jobs In an attempt to renew a gun's case colors. Usually looks like a sick leopard.
I guess I will let this one go.

I have seen some torch jobs come out quite nice.
Well it is up to $181.25 with skycommand in the lead.

Am I really missing something here?
Could have been made up in the Khyber Pass by taliban.

Well it is rare, probably one of a kind. :D
I'll have to bid again and take out skycommand....

Sorry to take so long to answer... I lost track of this topic.

Actually, I'm more of an over-and-under guy. When I've had a chance to play the vintage version of skeet, I've just borrowed someone's SxS. I suppose that I now have a reason to buy another gun.

I love the 20 gauge and would probably love the 28 gauge even more if the shells weren't so expensive even to reload.

I really like a nice SxS but I'm more of an O/U guy myself also. I had a nice little Fox Sterlingworth in a 20 ga. Couldn't shoot well with it though. I had a hard time with getting my head down consistently to get a good plane. My Browning comes right up to me naturally and I can hit what I'm shooting at with it. :)
