My father just retired and bought some property in ohio. I was wondering when the best time of the year to hunt is. From what I read, it's between late Oct. and first weeks of Nov. Any input would be great.

Sounds like you have it nailed. Having said that, any time is a good time to be in the woods during hunting season. The rut is a good time to hunt but the deer aren't on any schedule. You can take a nice deer any time during the season.

Good luck to you and your Dad,

From late September to early February lol
You never know when the right one will be standing in front of you.
I like to get out as much as possible during the season, even if it's not prime time, I just love the peace and quiet of being out in the woods.
