Time to Rise
The day started fast as I leaped outta bed
With chores on my mind and duties to dread
They ran through my mind all the things to be done
My eyes started to open my day had begun
The sun will be rising it happens each day
I need to find time and without much delay
To savor the good things that life can bring
And take a deep breathe like a new day in spring
Look at today as a day filled with pleasure's
Abundants behold the worlds full of treasure's
If only we slowed and took a brief time
The day would be brighter without such a climb
Scouring my notes for today's jobs be asked
I planned each minute to complete my days tasks
Kissing the pup and patting wife's head
Today would be busy no need to be said
The sun will be rising it happens each day
I need to find time and without much delay
To savor the good things that life can bring
And take a deep breathe like a new day in spring
Look at today as a day filled with pleasure's
Abundants behold the worlds full of treasure's
If only we slowed and took a brief time
The day would be brighter without such a climb
Out of the door with coffee in tow
Off to the rat race to bring home some dough
The lights all were red as I made my way there
Today was no different and I started to swear
The sun will be rising it happens each day

I made it to work with no time to spare
I sat at my desk so full of despair
Papers piling, phones ring and the boss on a rant
I picture myself as just a slave ant

Time stretched forever as I glanced to the clock
Through molasses it moved tic tock tic tock
As the workday was ending I thought I heard song
I snapped back to reality O-boy was I wrong

Boss yelling and fuming finger waving with glee
"Your all working over I'll be back tomorrow at three"
The day finally ended as I made my trek home
O lord what relief to escape the pressure dome

Again my mind raced as I planned chores to be done
I already knew I was under the gun
Grass mowing, taxi and trash to take out
I almost forgot the tile needed new grout

I slumped in my chair all tasks were complete
Finally some time to maybe relax and just eat
As I looked out the window and up to the sky
I guess the poor sun never had time to arise
