OK ladies and gentlemen here's the scoop on the sign ups and rules for the contest.
Please use the sign up thread at the top of the page. Sign ups will end on April 8th. The teams posted shortly thereafter. Once the teams are posted you will have until April 16th to check in. Sorry the dates are so close together but we are running out of time to mess around too much. Anyone who doesn't check in will be replaced by an alternate ( late sign in).
As for the rules, we want to keep this as simple as possible so here goes:
1. Only Ohio birds taken in the spring 2012 season are eligible.
2. Only one bird per contestant. If you harvest two you can upgrade to the biggest one.
3. Any legal weapon in the Ohio regs may be used, No extra points for different weapons.
4. Scoring: Beard length to the nearest 1/4 inch, measured from where it attaches to the neck skin to the end of the longest hair. Multiple beards count.
Spurs length to nearest quarter inch. Spurs measured from where it attaches on leg to tip. Multiple spurs count.
5. Pictures: 1) You and the bird 2) beard showing measurement
6. Each spur showing measurement.
7. Entries must be received by 5/27/2012.
8. Tiebreakers: If there is a tie, largest extra bird from each team. If neither team has an extra bird, Each team will select their best harvest photo and a membership vote decides the winning team.
9. If their is a question about any entry, it must be brought to either the commissioners attention or mine within seven days of when it is first posted. Please contact us by private message.
