35k people in Coshocton county in 2015. Looks like 1/2 or more live inside town limits doing a fast Google search. Reported kill around 5700 deer last season more the season prior. Thinking about it could there be more deer than people in rural areas outside town limits? Depending on the total harvest %. I was joking before but now thinking about it I can't imagine how many deer actually live there.....wow.
If you figure out the deer harvested PSM for a county there’s counties with higher harvest which would indicate higher densities most likely. Coshoc is around 11 DPSM harvested. I believe off public in Cosh theres closer to 16 or 17 DPSM harvested. There must be more deer on the public land there lol
Tuscarawas county has more deer than coshocton, but coshocton is still some of the better habitat in state. Also its probably the hardest hunted county in Ohio. I think Knox county might have higher density too.
KNOX COUNTY is a top producer, unfortently the farm I had hunted on had a few more hunters on it and I dislike driving three hours for someone else to come and walk in on my hunt or for me to see someone elses truck there.
For my birthday Dec. 23rd "if i don't tag out during gun season" I am going to take a drive down there and ask the adjacent farm for permission just for Muzzleloader season, and keep my fingers crossed that I get the green light. I LOVE KNOX County I have never seen so many deer in my life while hunting.
