Moving to Ohio fishing questions

Moving to Ohio in mid May till mid August, for an internship for my university. Will be staying in Toledo, and wondering if there will be any good fishing around these times. Recently got into salmon and trout fishing and have fallen in love with it. Also enjoy walleye fishing, and I don't mind bass/pan fish fishing if there's literally nothing else to do. SO yeah I was wondering if there will be any good trout, or salmon, fishing in the area. Thanks a lot

You will be close to excellent walleye fishing. Trout, not so much, salmon even less. However, we do have very good fall steelhead fishing. You'll have to head east to find the most reliable steel fishing though. The Lake Erie tributaries starting at Vermillion and moving east into PA will all have steelhead at times. Your time frame will probably miss it though. You can still catch them in early May. August is probably too early for the fall run. From Toledo, if you want to catch salmon and trout (other than steelhead), MI is probably your best bet.

To find trout in Ohio, you don't have many choices. Mad river, Clearfork, Clear creek or put and take stocking. The state has not stocked salmon in a very long time. But somehow one gets caught by a steelhead fisherman once in a great while. Get your walleye gear ready.
