I was just watching his show on the Outdoor Channell. He was hunting in Ohio Along the Ohio River. It was during the Shotgun season and wasn bowhunting the first couple days but decided to use his ML the last. He shot a nice 14 point the last day with the ML. Throughout the whole time he never had hunter orange on until after he shot the buck. He had it haging beside him on the tree. Only when he went to recover the animal did he wear the vest. Wouldn't you be a little more aware of the laws if you were putting it on TV. And no, he wasn't hunting on a high fenced ranch either.

Redhunter, if you notice, he isnt wearing orange, but if you look closely while he is talking to the camera, up above him hanging in the tree, he has both his gun and a bow, which is also illegal...

he could have his bow and muzzleloader because there is "2" people in his tree. one is the 'camera mans' weapons. Still no hunter orange. it doesn't count if you hang it next to you. i'm thinking it was a high fence operation.. either way. not smart

Something's not right here.

What states don't require hunter orange during their whitetail gun seasons? And do the laws vary for these private/fenced operations ?

I really can't see them televising illegal activity. There has to be more to the story imo. If not then it's suicidal behavior

many leases some or all state regs dont apply...personally i do not agree with this...they should have the same regulations as all hunters...in texas on private land which all was leases, you didnt have to wear hunter orange but did on the lil public land they had...

During one segment, he was actually standing there looking across the Ohio River and he stated that it was the Ohio River. I didn't see any fences along the river. He actually said that there was some kind of large production plant nearby that provided some cover noise or something to that effect.

I didnt see the show, but these shows are getting out of hand anymore. It seems every ex-jock or person with more money then sense or skill puts out a show and attempts to portray themselves as some kind of great hunter. I guess this will be another one I dont watch. I also watched one this week with Larry Csonka, another joke of a show. Csonka doesnt show me crap, all he is doing is following a guide around.

Leased or not, if its not high fenced the orange requirements for gun season still need to be abided by.

private land is no different than public land reguarding laws xcept for landowners... unless the owner owns the deer...and its a legal hunting operation...

When I said private , I meant private preserve not private property and I believe they do what they want inside the gate.Set there own rules and limits. Most of shows on the ODC the sports cound not shoot the ground on there own.just my 2 cents.Bucko
