To be rolling down the ridge and then all you can see if green poking through the trees! I spent Saturday with a good friend of mine and he had yet to return to the food plot since the day we planted it. He was able to bring his dad's 4WD Kubota tractor with 4' tiller to do this plot and I firmly believe it made all the difference. I also helped him put in his first ever plot this year and his also took off much like mine. I think he was more excited than I was to see the plot! I made him promise...

End of August update...

Posted 08-26-2009 at 02:21 PM by bowhunter1023

Posted 08-11-2009 at 08:48 AM by bowhunter1023

This was the first real food plot I have ever done with heavy equipment. (I tried one using our tractor a few years back that never go finished the right way and barely grew as a result.) My buddy was able to use the bucket to scrape away most of the debris...

The Throne...

Posted 04-14-2009 at 08:48 AM by bowhunter1023

Is complete!

Short of building the steps, adding the blind, and brushing this thing in, I am done for the time being...

Overall, the whole project went well from start to finish. After getting on the platform with just two sides x-braced, I decided it would be worth the $20 in materials and 20 minutes of work to brace all four sides the same. In the end, this thing is solid as a rock and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I had just under $300 in materials and...
