im think about going out for some tree rats but its been really cold here. does ther weather effect squirrels much? do you think it would effect rabbits ?

i was think that in the colder weather we may see them on the ground a little more but that would only be a guess and a good one if im right

thanks for the info

They can be hard to figure, but in winter if you have a storm, or a harsh change in the weather, they often just lay-up for a day or so. They have to eat though so even in cold weather they will be out and about eventually.

Squirrels have a good sense of smell, and in winter will use it to find leftover nuts or to dig up the ones they buried in the fall.

Right after the freeze we got i went to woods to kill some tree rats...i sat 4 hrs listening to them but with out seeing any. when i tried to sneak up on them which is usually easy i realized that this was impossible with 1/4 inch of ich all over every thing.... to top it off the ladder going to my roofed stand was also covered in ice so i had to set on the ground....berrrr cold...never attempt that again...
