Does anyone know where I can find out how many turkeys were killed by bow this past fall season? I tried the Ohiodnr page and a few others but no luck.

My guess would be for old Carpus Maximus? Ran into a guy at a recent indoor shoot, George, He had a '58 Kodiak. He was offered $300 for it and turned that down! Probably worth every penny as collecting goes. If he ever decides to seell it, I'll let you know!..TF

Well I finally found on the OhioDNR page where they posted the number of turkeys killed by bow during the fall season: A total of 171 turkeys killed by longbow and 87 killed by crossbow.

Wow.....that's more birds than I expected to be taken with archery equipment. I wonder what percentage was taken by tree standing bowhunters as apposed to those actually taken on the ground hunting birds only? I better get my butt in gear and start practicing for the Spring hunt!!......TF

I would have to think that a good percentage were taken by bowhunters in tree stands. That's how I took mine. It's not the traditional way, but for my first bow killed longbeard, I'll take it any way I can. It did have somewhat of a spring feel to it though. The entire hollow was filled with gobbles, and the one I shot only gobbled twice, but spent the early morning strutting in a tree about 50 yards behing me.
