I have not and will not try them. My dad and grampa will just about fight over them!! They will use a butter knife to crack the skull open and then dig them out with a fok, add some salt and pepper and swallow whole!! They claim that it is the best part! I guess that i will never know. I have not tried them in 16 yrs. of hunting them and dont plan on starting now!!!! :p

Deer liver. It's OK, but if I never have it again, I won't ever feel unfulfilled. Never had the heart, but I've heard it's good fried with onions and butter.

As far as other "exotics", not much to report. I once ate earthworms in college, however. Long story, don't ask. I swallowed them whole; I didn't dare chew them!

My great grandpa used to feed the family the squirrel meat and eat the brains. Was his favorite part.

I've never eaten anything exotic. My dad eats the liver and heart from his deer though. I don't think i could ever eat a brain. Heck an old buddy of mine gets on the brink of vomiting at just the sight of a brain.

My dad was a Depression baby, and they used to eat crow a lot. He says there was also a lot of deer "hunting" out of season during those days, if you know what I mean, and game law enforcement often just looked the other way. Can't say I blame them.

I ate a blackbird once, A red-winged blackbird to be exact. It wasn't too bad cooked on a stick over the fire but I really don't much remember what it tasted like. Too many Old Milwaukee's involved.."It doesn't get any better than this..." I have a buddy who majored in farm science at Alfred Univ. and they, as a part of one of their classes, had to eat at least one bite of EVERY part of a cow, brains, eyes, tongue, everything considered edible. I would have taken the "F" in that class, I dont eat organs.

Cob told me that george likes poop sandwiches. I stood up for george and told Cob that can't be possible because george doesn't like bread. :D
