question is...I will be moving soon and living on land that belongs to our relatives but i will not own any of the land myself..I have permission to hunt on this particular land plus set a sectional (doublewide) home on a small piece of the land..Relatives live about 3hours drive from the land,,which is for hunting purposes only.I will try to monitor the land for them especially during hunting seasons,,would i have any authority to running or keeping other hunters off their land??? since really i don't own the land.....Is there some kind of land form owners could fill out & sign giving me permission to patrol their land??? I have signed permission slip to hunt there myself but we know people sneak on the land a lot of times when we are not there.....But soon hopefully within the next 2 months weather permitting i will live there on the land...

Really, you don't NEED the authority to tell them to leave. If they don't have written permission, they're trespassing, period. Maybe have the landowners can contanct the local warden and/or sherrif's department and let them know you'll be the one living there and reporting any problems.

If you could get a power of attorney slip signed by your relatives, relating to the administrative rights on that land, you would have the same rights as the landowner. Otherwise, if you LIVE on the property, you have somewhat the same power. As a renter so to speak ! Get a paper drawn up and notorized between you and your relatives stating you have complete control of the land and your good to go . As magis said, if it's not yours and you have no permission, that's tresspassing and punishable, big time. Leave a note on windshields saying if they come back they will be prosecuted. Most of the time this will deter tresspassers. If not, get license plate numbers and turn em in !!
See not to bad !! Good Luck Mike:D

You don't need to tell them anything except "get off the property". If you feel anything else is needed you can say you live there, otherwise it shouldn't be a long conversation. Tell them to leave or you will call the cops. Offer that if they are in doubt you would be glad to meet with them and the police to sort it out.

Fishin 2 suggestion is reasonable. I've got a draft letter for my neighbor's property in southern Ohio. He lives in MI and owns vacant land in southern Ohio. The letter states I have a right to use his property, erect treestands and posted signs, and the right to "control" his property. I've only had to use the letter once to run off would be trespassers.
