My buddy and I hunt together, but his wife is not a wild game cooker or eater. This means that I usually get what he shoots in addition to what I shoot. I realize that no matter who shoots it I cannot exceed the possesion limit. But what about the trip home if I have 1 over the limit? Could i call him to confirm that it was his rabbit or bird? Kind of s sticky question. Probably depend on the WO, but my guess is that I would risk a citation.

i'd say that it would take a reall hard ass for a wo to issue a citation under those circumstances.
me,i'd clean all of the game at his house and just keep what would be over the limit for you in his freezer until you could store it legally.

I think cleaning the game at his house might be one of the reasons he gives it away.:D

I say if he wants to give it away than so be it, just have him accompany you to your house and clean your game there. If this is not feasable, than have him tag the game with his name/address/and phone number in case you get stopped, but I would clarify this with a WO. The whole thing about the freezer is pushing it. I thought that when they talk about having so many in possesion at one time it meant liek having so many in a cooler form two days of hunting. If you wnat to save up 24 squirrels in your freezer at one time so be it, I know this might not be the letter of the law, but I know some WO's and I dont know anyone of them that would get a warrant to check your freezer for having too much of something in possesion unless you were suspected of posching or illegal wildlife trafficking of some kind to begin with. So I have a question, my mother lives in NE PA nad loves rabbit, I will usually get a couple limits out here in Ohio and when I head home I will take her the rabbits I have in my freezer. Is this legaL, sure they could say I took more than my limit, which of course I didn't but it would be hard for them to prove that I did.
