Iowa pheasants and rabbits

Going out to southwest Iowa Dec.10th to hunt pheasants and rabbits. Will take a pair of beagles and a 1 year old lab. Anyone ever been out their?

I don't know about Iowa but a couple of guys from work just got back from South Dakota & said the pheasants are unreal this year. They had a group of 7 (including a guy's wife), that went out for a week & brought back 80 roosters, 1 prarie chicken & 3 rabbits. All they had for a dog was one Golden Retriever. They say pheasants are at an all time high right now.
