Really dumb questions but.....
Do you have to wear an orange hat or vest when bowhunting public property?
Thanks,
Dan
I dont think so. Well I hope not atleast.

Depending on where your hunting it wouldn't hurt to keep the hat handy just in case some bird hunters come along. You could pull it out and wave it around since they're not shooting towards the ground.

I dont hunt public ground, but if i did i would consider wearing a orange hat when going in or out of the woods. You just never know these days.
I feel a little safer walking public grounds with an orange hat on. Last week, I was set up 50 yds. inside the woods from a standing cornfield when a group of pheasant hunters came through the field. I debated whether to pull out my hat or not, and didn't. In hindsight, I should've, especially since they did get a shot shortly after disappearing from my view.

The regs must have been written differently this year. I've seen numerous guys ask the same question about wearing orange when bowhunting this year.
I think our regs could use a more simplified format.

I think the only time you're required to wear orange while bowhunting is during gun season?
