RAISING A LITTLE HELL about upland mgt.
I’m not sure how to go about doing this. I have seen online petitions before that have worked. Any help would be welcomed.

Do you think if we got an online petition together circulated the link over ever NET and had it sent to new chief Steve Grey. It seems those with loudest voice only get heard. If we keep pounding them on the issue they have listen.
Im new to the game and only heard stories of what oit was like back in the 70's.Seems so sad issue been elected for so long.

I spoke to Mike Reynolds from the ODNR Friday afternoon,(Mike is the lead Forest wildlife mgmt bioligist) and he informed me that Mr Gray is very much an "upland guy" and he suspects that there will be more emphasis placed on upland managment with him. He said that this is particularly a good time to make in-roads regarding this to Chief Gray with both letters and attending the hearings. He was also going to personally speak with him about our conversation and another he had recently. Mike is also a grouse hunter and has a vested interest it will surely help to have individuals within the ODNR with his credibility bending the new chiefs ear regarding public feed back on our upland needs.
Again for anyone interested in improving Ohio Upland Bird Habitat:

Don't expect anything above the norm.... if you don't get the Ohio Farm Bureau involved there will never be any good to come of upland management...
Its habitat plain and simple that is needed:(

Lance i Only got one email from that group, what am I doing wrong?
ATH, There already been successful programs in other states to model off of. Basically its volentary program witch works with farmers to create habitate and maintain wild bird populations.

I'm checking on what our hold up is but I think I know. One of the other guys (the who initially bounced the idea and set up the group) has an older dog who is very near and dear that is in it's last days and is a little down and putting a lot of time into it. I'm going to give him a week or two before I start to work too hard on him.
