My name is Patti and I like to hunt deer and turkey and also like to fish for musky. Unfortunately I don't get to do much of those things right now. Hopefully I will be able to get out a little this year.
How many ladies do we have here and what do you like to do?

Hi, Patti:
I've been deer hunting since 1999. Pretty much self-taught...no one in my family hunted, but years ago I worked with some guys who deer hunted, so after a while I got interested and tried to learn from them. I mostly hunt in Monroe County--got shut out my first two years, then bagged my first deer (a doe) with a crossbow in 2001. Got a second doe that year with a shotgun. I've taken at least one deer every year since then, including a doe with my crossbow on October 8 this year.
I've been turkey hunting, too, but no luck yet. Called a tom in to about 75 yards a couple of springs ago but he lost interest in my calls and walked off into the woods.
I don't see too many, if any, women post on the forums. I lurk mostly, reading the posts in the whitetail deer hunting section and (sometimes) the bowhunting forum. I don't agree with everything I read, but I figure it's better to keep my mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt...LOL

I am glad to meet you Tamie. I have taken a couple of deer but never a turkey. I have been out several times with my husband but never gotten a gobbler. I have taken a couple of fox though. My job just doesn't afford me much time off any more.
Maybe I will be able to get out for the late season muzzleloader this year, we will see.

We need more ladies to take part, I think the site smells better since we have had a few of the women join. It's every mans dream to have a wife who hunts and fishes. Or at least my dream. :)

Post away, Tamie. None of us agree with everything we read, but it definitely makes us think about of own values and ethics. And as far as being a fool, a little foolishness is what makes the forum fun.

Kathy-
That post sounded like an introduction at an AA meeting. LOL Anyway it's glad to hear that you enjoy hunting as much as you do. My girlfriend just recently asked me if she could go hunting with me. She doesn't want to shoot anything, she just wants to be out there and see what it's all about. Welcome to the site by the way.

Hello Patti, Tamie, Kathy and any other lady members.
Glad to meet all of you!
I have been on the site for a few days now. I had alot of fishing invitations etc until I realized it was because some didnt figure out from my name that I am a gal. So I posted it and not as many now. I didnt see this forum until today!
I do not do any hunting as of yet . but I do love to fish. I moved back to Ohio after a 5 year vacation in Florida LOL. I fell in love with saltwater fishing there. I fished at least 4 times a week. My newest adventure is to learn to freshwater fish. Thats why I am on here and to meet other anglers or just new friends.
Tight Lines and lets keep in touch.

Well, I didn't get much time to go deer hunting this year. Did any of you get to go and did you have any success?
I am looking forward to Spring turkey season. I should be able to get out a few times.

I do most of my hunting in GA(vacation). Unfortunately, when I'm home I work too much and don't have time to get out here in Ohio, so I'm "0-fer" in Ohio. I've had my share of luck in GA. I hunt deer, turkey, and squirrels. Love to fish, too. In fact, I'll be heading to FL for some Red Fish and Sea Trout fishing next week.:bouncy: :bouncy: I'm going to meet with my brother and his wife in New Smyrna and fish the Mosquito Lagoon. Had a blast there last Dec. I'm planning on retiring next April, I'll be getting more time in the woods then for sure!!:D
