Let's say I have two tags.
At 1500 a button buck comes by and I shoot him.
As I'm waiting a 150 inch buck comes sauntering by. Can I legally shoot him or do I have to check the BB in first?

You must have your temporary tag on the first one before you can shoot a second.

So I don't actually have to go to the check in station first right?
Thanks

Not that I'm saying I would do this, but it would be very easy for someone to shoot a deer and leave it lay in hopes of another walking by. Once the sun set this "someone" could tag their deer and most likely no one would be the wiser.

TF, since no one on here shoots BBs this scenario is implausiable!! JK. Countryroad is correct, all you have to do is tag the deer then you can resume hunting. I think they just changed this a couple of years ago.

Might make a good decoy too.
You could make it look like a bedded doe and use a stick to prop it's head up. ;)

.....and in a 3 deer county you can shoot a doe right before the BB, too!
Just make sure you have your "temp" tag on the downed deer like CR said!
