After a couple of slow fall-bites the last few years ~ do you guys think the late arrivin' Wally-Hogs will be there bendin' poles till Ice-up this year???

Once they start cruisin the shoreline you can usually catch them right up till it freezes, I've caught them off them off lakeside pier in January, but if the wind blows too much from the north and muddies the shoreline, it ends it, unless you have a boat and like to freeze, then you can usually find some clear water around Kellys is. and fish.
I've drove up to the lake a couple times in the dark, cast out, no splash, Ice.....done for the year.

My dad and I have caught some monsters on the Pier in past years....HOGS in the 11-13 pound range. Typically, mid to late November were our best times. My boat is dry docked near Huron Pier in a small town called Berlin Heights.

Hey Ray!!We are humping 24/7 refitting the new boat for what I think are the best two months of the season.Ran into a couple of surprises I missed when I looked her over and I'm repairing more than origionally planned but she should be sweet other than an 80 gallon troll belly. Will be in touch.

heheh ~ that sounds kinda like 240 Buck$ and a empty wallet:eek: :D

I bet the last couple of months in dry-dock have been hard to handle ~ you & DB will have to grow a new set of sea-legs:)

(a rusty gear just turned) ... did you ever get DB behind the wheel of her wheels -or- did I bring up a touchy thingy -heheh:D

She is starting to talk about new wheels the Dodge p/u gets almost as good mileage as the boat, haha.Took a night off and am posting for a while between reading up on our new garmin sounder and gpsmap. She must still love me she bought the color sounder for sweeties day after bringing home a sheepoo and asking me not to get mad,lol...I am setting her up with 1500 watt ceramic cabin heat though for the upcoming weather so she can cook in comfort..I did promise to fix that leaking timing cover when I was done with the boat but she informed me I will be out every night till ice over.

Oh yeah fishing. I'll take a break from deer hunting the last weekend in October to go out on my uncles charter boat. He is docked at Huron so I hope the winds stay southerly and the temps stay about the same and we should do well.
